Today primary 4 and 5 celebrated Ash Wednesday in class. The pupils explored how today marked the beginning of their Lenten journey and discussed how Lent is a time to follow Jesus and become closer to God. The pupils made Lenten promises to God focusing on three key elements - prayer, fasting and giving to charity. We finished our Ash Wednesday activities with a beautiful peaceful reflection. The pupils hung their promises on the Lenten tree during our prayer service.
