Green Fingers in Primary 7
Primary 7 along with some Eco-Committee members have been very busy over the last few months tidying and planting the school poly tunnel.
Here's what some of them had to say about getting the poly tunnel ready for planting:
First of all we cleaned out the poly tunnel and then planted it. We have a rota for watering it every day. It is important that we weed the poly tunnel every now and then so the plants can grow. The lettuce were the first crop ready. Lorcan Leonard P7
P7 decided this year to tidy up the poly tunnel and plant some fruit and vegetables. We water the plants each day and soon hope to have the ingredients to make our own salads. Rhianne McGuinness P7
We planted lots of different fruits and vegetables in our poly tunnel. We planted corn on the cob, strawberries, potatoes, cabbages and tomatoes along with lots more different crops. Daniel O’Connor P7
As part of our work on the Eco-Committee we decided to clean out the poly tunnel and plant some fruit and vegetables. We planted potatoes, cabbages, lettuce, onions, scallions, carrots, strawberries and tomatoes. We had great fun planting and watching these crops all grow! Cara Gray P7
