St Columban's PS was crowned National School of the Year at the Cumann na mBunscol Cornmarket Awards night in the Killyhevlin Hotel last Friday. Mr Magee explained that each school that entered the competition had to submit a substantial portfolio of all they had done during the year in promoting gaelic games. These were then judged by a group of assessors who selected the various prize winners. Mr Magee complimented all the pupils on their interest and dedication to gaelic games. He said ‘to crowned ‘National School of the Year’ was a tremendous honour for the entire school community and something we are all rightly very proud of.’
